Intuition is a fast, unconscious and automatic cognitive processing system that is based on the holistic association of elements present in the environment and that can sometimes result in judgments with emotional charge. The conditions in which this system is often used are similar to those in entrepreneurship, which leads to believe there could be a relation between them. In this paper we intend to analyze the role of intuition on entrepreneurial activities, by identifying the specific stages where it is involved or might be useful. We performed a bibliographic review of 33 articles obtained from the BUSINESS SOURCE, PsychINFO databases and their bibliography. Our study revealed that, under a focus of dual processing theories, the intuitive cognitive style is part of the process of entrepreneurship; mainly in the area of decision making in situations of uncertainty, lack of information and lack of time. Likewise, it was found that it can influence expectations of self-efficacy in terms of identifying opportunities and influence organizational performance.
