O LUTO DIANTE DE CIDADES DESTRUÍDAS NO ANTIGO ORIENTE PRÓXIMO

O presente artigo se configura como um estudo comparado entre os lamentos sumérios e o livro bíblico das Lamentações. Na primeira parte, será colocada a base para tal estudo, identificando as características fundamentais do gênero literário do lamento sobre a cidade. Em seguida, será enfatizado como os lamentos sumérios estavam ligados à celebração de luto diante de cidades e templos destruídos, mas com uma abertura para a reconstrução e para uma nova dinastia reinante, tomando como exemplo o Lamento por Suméria e Ur. Na terceira parte, será apresentado o livro bíblico das Lamentações, observando igualmente a sua ligação com uma celebração de luto comunitário, mas sem perspectiva de reconstrução e sem esperar um novo rei para governar.
